ale golden-green color. This wine has an expressivenose with an exceptional range of grapefruit and citrus fruit with floral aromas. These notes are enhanced and strengthened by the lively acidy on the palate with plenty of body, richness, roundness and complemented by a smooth finish.
Vinous 87 points - Light yellow. Lightly perfumed bouquet displays lime pith and lemon flowers. Citrus and orchard fruit flavors are a touch herbal, but gain weight on the palate. Nicely pliant and flavorful, with an appealing finish.
Les Deux Tours is produced by Baron Patrick de Ladoucette in the Loire Valley. Baron Patrick is often referred to as "The King of the Loire Valley”, not solely due to his aristocratic descent, but more so for his contribution to the worldwide recognition and acclaim of this appellation. These beautiful wines originate from a terroir that is known as the "Valley of the Kings”, which is located along the Loire River, the longest water way in France.
|Wine maker notes
|Les Deux Tours is made from 100% Sauvignon Blanc grapes, grown on mainly siliceous-limestone with some parcels of flint clay. The grapes are sourced from the best vine growers in the region. The impeccable "vinification” is true to the Ladoucette standards, the highest in the world of white wines. The wine is made at the Marc Bredif winery in Vouvray by Cellar Master Jean-Francois Marchalot. Fermentation takes place in thermo-controlled stainless-steel tanks and the wine is "raised” on fine lees to allow the full expression of its character.
|The largest and most famous Pouilly-Fume vineyards have been in the hands of the Comte Lafond and Ladoucette families since 1787 when the Comte Lafond purchased the estate from the illegitimate daughter of the French king, Louis XV.
The estate is now owned by Baron Patrick de Ladoucette, a descendant of the Comte Lafond, and Pouilly Fume has earned a reputation as one of the world’s great white wines.
After taking over Ladoucette in 1972, the Baron extended his activities to Sancerre, Chablis, Vouvray and Chinon.
Today, the Baron produces outstanding Loire Valley wines under the de Ladoucette, Marc Bredif, La Poussie, Regnard and Baron Patrick labels. Many of the wines, including the Pouilly Fume de Ladoucette, Baron de L and Comte Lafond, are considered to be the finest examples of their type.
