Produced from 60% Greco and 40% Malvasia, Gravina Bianco is one of Italy’s most ancient white wines. Like many of the world’s most iconic wines, the grape varieties that traditionally produced this wine originated elsewhere but found their ideal habitat in Puglia. The wine gained DOC status in 1983 and is currently only produced by Botromagno, which has had great success with this wine in multiple export markets. From the 2013 vintage onward, the vineyards that produce Botromagno’s Gravina DOP wines are certified Organic.
Wine maker notes
One of Italy’s most ancient white wines, whose production goes as far back as the 6th century BC. The grape varieties that traditionally produce it were brought from Asia Minor and found here their ideal habitat. The wine gained DOP status in 1983 and is currently produced only by Botromagno, which exports it to more than 11 countries worldwide.

Technical notes
Varietal Composition 60% Greco and 40% Malvasia

The D”Agostinos have been the only ones to invest in the Gravina DOC, recovering the production of this white wine and rebuilding its reputation as an elegant and versatile wine. Today they are the only producers of the flavorful and refreshing Gravina, which is considered by many to be one of the most exciting whites from southern Italy.

Food pairing
Oysters, raw fish and shellfish, spicy soups, Asian cuisine, light meats.

Producer
In 1991, the D”Agostino family merged with the local cooperative winery, creating Botromagno, the first successful example of a privately owned winery partnered with more than 100 local grape growers. The D”Agostino family has been able to foster a reliable and efficient synergy with the local farmers; based on strict standards for quality grape growing, they have rapidly become one of the finest wineries in Puglia.
