Wine Advocate 89 points - Always a somewhat rustic style of Pomerol, the 2010 merits one of the highest ratings I have ever given this vineyard. With considerable opulence, a chocolate, mocha, black cherry and berry spectrum of aromas and flavors, medium to full-bodied and a macho, masculine feel to it, this wine has more finesse than normal, but never loses its relatively powerful, chunky style. Drink it over the next 10-15 years. (Feb 2013)
This lovely property located between Château LAFLEUR and Château GAZIN has belonged to the same family for three generations and has been farmed by Ets. JeanPierre MOUEIX since 1976.
The vines, of an average age of 30 years, are planted on soils of gravel and clay for the Merlot and silt where the Cabernet Franc shows its full character. The vineyard management and the vinification are carried out traditionally and with the same care as on the other Ets. Jean-Pierre MOUEIX properties.
Château LAFLEUR-GAZIN generally has a deep colour, a vivid nose and a good texture backed up by a firm tannic structure. It definitely needs to be kept a few years
for full enjoyment
