The color is an intense red with slight purplish glints. The bouquet reveals simple floral notes alternating with aromas of fresh fruit. To the palate the taste is young and genuine, evoking prevalently fruity notes among which cherry is particularly conspicuous. Despite the long-lasting taste, the effect in the mouth is more-ish – one sip calls for another!
This indigenous vine variety, typical and widespread in the north-east of Italy, is a noble and aristocratic vine that lends itself to the production of wines which need a long period of refinement as well as wines that are consumed young but which have a strong personality, with an age-old charm: that of the farming tradition in the Veneto area.
|Wine maker notes
|After the harvest, the grapes are de-stemmed and crushed. The must is left to soak in contact with the grape-skins for four to five days at temperatures of between 28° and 33° C. A partial malo-lactic fermentation is carried out and subsequently the wine is transferred to cement tanks and left to rest, after which it is bottled.
|Meat dishes, stews, strong-flavored soups with vegetables and pulses, medium mature cheeses. Serve at temperatures of around 18-20°C.
