The Merlot vine of St. Emilion and Pomerol was introduced to Italy in 1880, and today, Grave del Friuli is the Merlot capital of Italy. Due Torri Grave Merlot derives its character from the rocky, hilly vineyards, which yield lower quantities but higher quality grapes. The wine reaches its peak in two to three years from the vintage. A fruity bouquet with hints of raspberries meets a full, dry taste and clean, pleasant finish. Pair this wine with roasted, fried, or boiled meat.
