This pear schnapps has a smooth, supple and exceptionally balanced taste but is full of lushness and intensity.
The basis for this schnapps is the fully ripe Williams Christ pear, which is carefully ripened further in crates (Williams pears are the only fruit whose taste density can be improved through supplementary ripening). Mashed at precisely the height of their aromatic development, these pears are distilled to create a fine and delicate schnapps. Our Williams schnapps distinctly sets itself apart from the many other brands of this distillate, which are generally characterised by an opulent and sweet bouquet: what is important for us with our Williams schnapps is not the superficial punch of the aroma, but rather the preservation and optimum presentation of the elegance and complexity typical of this fine pear.

|The Golles family has been cultivating orchards in the sunny hill country around Austria’s Riegersburg Castle for four generations. Since the beginning of the 1980s, they have specialized in manufacturing fine vinegars and premium spirits by hand. Particular emphasis is placed on the use of only the highest quality ingredients, because only the naturally delicious taste of flawless, sun-ripened fruits or excellent wines is a suitable basis for producing dense and robust schnapps. This quest for prime fruit for the distillery is also at the heart of the commitment at Golles to cultivating old fruit varieties that are now exceedingly rare. To this end, orchards have been replanted with these old varieties: since 1990 thousands of these rarities, like the saubirne (“sow” pear) and maschansker apple, have been planted. While state-of-the-art technology is employed in transforming these and other high-quality products into the fine spirits bearing the Golles name, the crucial factor remains the experience and sensorium of Alois Golles and his team.
