CINGHIALE RATING 4.1
Wow-is this a Barbera?-if it is it is the Mother of all Barberas. Very dark, deep red. Very big nose of fruit, spice, tobacco and chocolate—Not representative of Barberas. Taste fallowed suit—powerful mouth filling more like a California or Australian Syrah than a Barbera. We thought someone had put in a ringer. Very extracted and powerful. Very well made, good tannins, tons of dark fruit but low acidity. A modern style Barbera that would be more at home outside of Italy and definitely outside of Piedmont.
