Cerasuolo di Vittoria became a DOCG in 2005, the only DOCG in Sicily. In the last century the Ragusa province was so deeply affected by the phylloxera epidemic that most farmers, having witnessed the devastation of their vineyards, decided to change their crops into fruit and vegetables. Only in the last 20 years there has been a steady return to vine growing and Manenti belongs to the new generation of winemakers that work side by side with local farmers with more than 70 harvests under their belts...
