Trevor Jones is a small family owned winery situated on the Barossa Valley Highway at Lyndoch, Australia, established in 1979 by Ralph and Val Jones. For many years they have been selecting grapes from vineyards throughout the Barossa and Eden Valleys. From the old Shiraz vines that line the road to the winery, the Wild Witch block nestled in the Lyndoch hills, and the Riesling rows along the Eden Valley hillside –each vineyard has its own unique characteristics.
|The vineyards, located throughout the Barossa region, are planted on brown sandy soil to clay loam. The fruit, which consists predominantly of Grenache, is late-picked by hand and machine. Crushed, pressed and fermented before being fortified, leaving residual sweetness. Aged 5-10 years in seasoned oak. Once transferred to old seasoned oak the wine spends time aging in the heat of an old tin shed on the hillside of the Barossa Ranges. The best barrels are then selected for blending before being filtered and sent to bottle.
