The secret to its unique excellence is that it is made without the addition of caramel coloring or flavor stretchers, such as Mistrella or Sifone (a combination of grape juice and alcohol). Opici Marsala gets its rich golden color from blending in older reserves of Marsala. Both the sweet and dry Marsala are excellent for drinking or kitchen use.
