Made from the estate’s oldest vines and aged in 100% new oak, the sleek, stylish 2003 Suolo (100% Sangiovese) presents intense super-ripe red fruit, earth, licorice, minerals and superbly well-integrated oak on a full-bodied, expansive frame with excellent grip, length and overall balance. It should drink well to age fifteen and likely beyond. Anticipated maturity: 2006-2018. Wine Spectator 91 points Aromas of chocolate, berry, cedar and cigar box. Full-bodied, with fine tannins and a long finish. Give it some bottle age to come together. Sangiovese. Best after 2007. 235 cases made. –JS
